VISION ON THE SHORE by ANNA ROZELLE DILLER

First Line: WHEN THE MOON IS SHINING ON THE BAYOU
Last Line: SLEEPS BENEATH THE BAYOU WATER.
Subject(s): VISION;

When the moon is shining on the bayou
And the stars are hanging low,
You'll see a vision walking
Along the sylvan shore.

She has walked the shore,
Folks say, for twenty years or more.
Sweet Nell, the Captain's daughter,
Sleeps beneath the bayou water.
