SEATS OF THE FLIGHTY: THE FIRST CHAIR by FAIRFAX DOWNEY

First Line: WHEN TO A COLLEGE TOWN I GO
Last Line: AND SIMPLY WAVE MY HAND.
Subject(s): CHAIRS; UNIVERSITIES & COLLEGES;

When to a college town I go,
I wire the news to all I know
To call my faithful band;
And college boys by twos and threes
Down to the railroad station breeze
To hail me when I land.
I watch the football, play by play,
And then there's dancing night and day --
I think it's simply grand.
And then I turn to go away --
And simply wave my hand.
