WHAT GOLD CANNOT BUY by KATHERYN SWEET EASTERDAY

First Line: A MISER OLD
Last Line: TO HEAVEN'S PORT BEYOND THE SKY.
Subject(s): GOLD; GREED; WEALTH; AVARICE; CUPIDITY; RICHES; FORTUNES;

A miser old,
A chest of gold,
With trembling hands
The gold he holds.
The time draws nigh
To say good-by --
His eyes are dim,
And dark, the sky.
What does it hold
This chest of gold?
A miser's dreams
Are there all told,
A passport now
It cannot buy
To heaven's port beyond the sky.
A passport now
He cannot buy
To heaven's port beyond the sky.
