WOODLAND GREETINGS by OLIVER MURRAY EDWARDS

First Line: PALE AND WEIRD THE LANDSCAPE
Last Line: ANSWER TO THE SKY.
Subject(s): SOLITUDE; LONELINESS;

Pale and weird the landscape
As the silver moon,
Rising through the tree tops,
Greets the owl and loon;
Borne across the waters
Comes their lonesome cry,
While the woodland shadows
Answer to the sky.
