POETRY by O. E. ENFIELD

First Line: DON'T ASK ME TO READ A LONG POEM
Last Line: AT WHAT THE CRITICS SAY.
Subject(s): POETRY READINGS;

Don't ask me to read a long poem
Nor one that isn't good
Nor one that's tangled and obscure
And can't be understood;
When I read a poem -- a good one --
It helps to cheer the day
And I can't be bothered
At what the critics say.
