THISTLEDOWN: 13 by CORA RANDALL FABBRI

First Line: O PEPITA! MY PEPITA!
Last Line: BUT YOUR SMALL HEART MIGHT BE TRUER.

O PEPITA! my Pepita!
Who would wish you fairer, brighter?
Would you make the roses sweeter?
Would you paint the lily whiter?

Nay, Pepita, my Pepita!
Your blue eyes could not be bluer;
Your sweet face could not be sweeter;
But your small heart might be truer.
