FORSYTHIA by HORTENSE KING FLEXNER

First Line: SUN AT THE WINDOW AND THE BLAZE
Last Line: AND LIFE WAS GREATLY COMING ON.
Subject(s): LIFE; SPRING;

Sun at the window and the blaze
Of yellow branch and swinging flower,
Worked many creeping unmarked days
Into an everlasting hour.

And I who felt earth wake in me
Was gone, and you were under stone—
But Spring was living in the tree,
And life was greatly coming on.
