A MOTHER'S BREAST by WILLIAM CHANNING GANNETT

First Line: WHEN AMONG ALL LIFE'S MIRACLES I TRY
Last Line: MAKES GENTLEST LANDFALL ON A MOTHER'S BREAST.
Subject(s): MOTHERS;

WHEN among all life's miracles I try
What highest arguments may certify
That God is good, however things may seem,
On this I rest, and evil dims like dream.--
Each little soul that voyages toward birth.
When it arrives on earth,
Makes gentlest landfall on a mother's breast.
