Jubilate! Peace has conquered! Ring it to the ends of earth; Though all knew the time was pregnant, Few foresaw an angel-birth. Let men know that Peace is regnant, That the fearful dream is o'er; That the awful dream of terror Strife and bloodshed, sin and error Haunts the wakened world no more. Peace is victor, let a triumph Welcome her to Albion's shore! Jubilate! God has conquered! Unto Him be all the praise. Lo! the lust of domineering, And the hate, which many days Have with blood-stained hands been rearing, Now are but the ghosts of wrong! Let the incense of ovations Rise to God, ye rival nations, Break your swords and join the song: "Farewell, War! we loved you never, "From your hand our hands we sever, "May the parting be for ever! "Peace be with us long and long!" Jubilate! War is conquered! Let the bells ring out a peal That shall shake the very steeple, Peace again is at the wheel! Jubilate! all ye people, Come unto the God of Hosts; Warriors in the strife called Living, Come to swell the grand thanksgiving, From the world's most distant coasts. Jubilate! Jubilate!
