THE POEMS OF COLD MOUNTAIN: 125 by HAN SHAN

First Line: THIS YEAR'S GRAIN BEING STILL UNRIPE
Last Line: AND WEALTH JUST MAKES THEM DUMBER
Subject(s): CHINESE LITERATURE; IGNORANCE; MARRIAGE; DULLNESS; STUPDITY; WEDDINGS; HUSBANDS; WIVES;

This year's grain being still unripe
and last year's grain already gone
I went to borrow a peck or two
and wavered outside a gate
the husband came out and said ask his wife
the wife came out and said ask her husband
misers don't help those in need
and wealth just makes them dumber
