CHARADE: 2 by FRANCES RIDLEY HAVERGAL

First Line: MY FIRST GLEAMS BRIGHT 'MID AZURE SHIELDS
Last Line: ILLUMINING THE SOUTHERN SKY.
Subject(s): ORION (CONSTELLATION);

MY @3first@1 gleams bright 'mid azure shields,
On rich emblazoned argent fields.
If you too often use my @3second,@1
An egotist you will be reckoned.
My @3third,@1 it is a battle-cry;
And be it yours in every high,
And good, and noble end and aim,
As such it is the road to fame.
My belted @3whole@1 you may descry
Illumining the southern sky.
