THE PARCAE, OR, THREE DAINTY DESTINIES. THE ARMILET by ROBERT HERRICK

Poet Analysis

First Line: THREE LOVELY SISTERS WORKING WERE
Last Line: OR CUT, IF CUT BY YOU.
Subject(s): LIFE;

The Armilet.

Three lovely Sisters working were
(As they were closely set)
Of soft and dainty Maiden-haire,
A curious Armelet.
I smiling, ask'd them what they did?
(Faire Destinies all three)
Who told me, they had drawn a thred
of Life, and 'twas for me.
They shew'd me then, how fine 'twas spun;
And I reply'd thereto,
I care not now how soone 'tis done,
Or cut, if cut by you.
