OLD STYLE by WALTER SAVAGE LANDOR

Poet Analysis

First Line: AURELIUS, SIRE OF HUNGRINESSES
Last Line: LUCULLUS, CAESAR, AND TWO MORE.

AURELIUS, Sire of Hungrinesses!
Thee thy old friend Catullus blesses,
And sends thee six fine watercreases.
There are who would not think me quite
(Unless we were old friends) polite
To mention whom you should invite.
Look at them well; and turn it o'er
In your own mind...I'd have but four..
Lucullus, Caesar, and two more.
