A DEAD CHILD by LUCIAN

First Line: FIVE YEARS ALONE HAD VANISHED SINCE MY BIRTH
Last Line: I LEARNT BUT LITTLE OF LIFE'S SINS AND GRIEF.
Subject(s): DEATH - CHILDREN; DEATH - BABIES;

Five years alone had vanished since my birth,
When ruthless Plato snatched me from the earth.
Mourn not my fate; for, if my life was brief,
I learnt but little of life's sins and grief.
