In a blazing sunset the gondola moves silently along the surface of the lagoon, like somebody sneaking up on Sleeping Beauty. Green ducks fly up against the light, electric as shock from some invisible crevice, and they are caught in midair by my own wonderment and remain bright as dandelions and as tentative as cats on the @3fondamenta@1 after a storm.
