SILHOUETTE OF A HUSBAND by CHRISTOPHER DARLINGTON MORLEY

Poet Analysis

First Line: LADIES CLASSIFY HUSBANDS
Last Line: "I WILL NOT BE HOME TO DINNER THIS EVENING."
Subject(s): MARRIAGE; WEDDINGS; HUSBANDS; WIVES;

LADIES classify husbands
Into two classes:
Those who are "attentive,"
And those who are not.
I fear I am of the latter,
For I never can remember
My home telephone number.

But my friend Chang Jo
Always knows his home number.
He calls up so often to say
"My dear,
I will not be home to dinner this evening."
