IN AUTUMN by LOUISE CHANDLER MOULTON

Poet Analysis

First Line: WITH THE LEAVES AROUND HER DYING
Last Line: FADE IN THE AUTUMN WEATHER.
Subject(s): AUTUMN; SEASONS; FALL;

WITH the leaves around her dying,
And the wind around her sighing,
And her listless hands together,
She sits in the autumn weather.

The sad little streams are grieving,
The poor little birds are leaving,
And the flowers and she together
Fade in the autumn weather.
