HOLY SATURDAY (1) by JOHN BANISTER TABB

First Line: I CAME, O DEATH, TO CONQUER THEE
Last Line: AND TEACH MANKIND THY CHARITY.
Subject(s): EASTER; HOLIDAYS; THE RESURRECTION;

I came, O Death, to conquer thee,
And overcome the Grave;
But thou wast tenderer to me
Than those I sought to save.
Henceforth in benediction be,
And teach mankind thy charity.
