MATURITY by JOHN BANISTER TABB

First Line: TALK NOT OF CHILDHOOD'S THOUGHTLESS JOY
Last Line: AS HE THAT SOARS AND SINGS.

Talk not of childhood's thoughtless joy!
I would not be again a boy
For all that boyhood brings;
The callow fledgling in the nest
Is not of birds supremely blest
As he that soars and sings.
