SONG (2) by ROYALL TYLER

First Line: THE MERCHANT THUS WITH LONGING EYES
Last Line: AND ZEPHYRS BLOW A RAGING STORM.

THE Merchant thus with longing eyes
Looks o'er the placid glassy Main
To see the whitening sails arise
Which waft his Treasures home again.

Mock'd by the Illusions of his Fears
His terrors all the Scene deform
In gentle Gale a tempest hears
And Zephyrs blow a raging Storm.
