DISTANCE by GEORGE EDWARD WOODBERRY

First Line: FAR FROM MY EARTHLY HOME
Last Line: DEAR, TO BE FAR FROM THEE.
Subject(s): ABSENCE; SEPARATION; ISOLATION;

FAR from my earthly home,
Far from my spirit's goal,
I seek across the endless foam
Pacifics of the soul.

To me the singer's lonely bliss
Far on the chartless sea!
But the soul of distance is,
Dear, to be far from thee.
