EARTH by GEORGE WILLIAM RUSSELL

First Line: THOUGH I LEAP LIGHTLY

THOUGH I leap lightly
O'er the unmoving clay,
It is earth is ethereal,
Not I who run away.

Earth is a giant,
Yet on her sapphire round
She pads so softly
You do not hear a sound.

Fire, typhoon, her children,
Who fill you with awe,
Are gentle as she is,
Obeying sweet law.
