LIFE-SAVING MEDAL by PHILIPPE SOUPAULT

First Line: MY NOSE IS AS LONG AS A KNIFE
Last Line: OR SOMEONE ELSE WHOSE NAME I HAVE FORGOTTEN.
Subject(s): SURREALISM;

My nose is as long as a knife
and my eyes are red from laughing
At night I catch the milk that the moon pours
and I run without turning.
If the trees are afraid behind me
I scoff at them
How beautiful indifference is at midnight

Where have these young folks gone
prides of the townhalls
borough musicians
The crowd dances hurriedly
and I am only that common passerby
or someone else whose name I have forgotten.
