QUEEN ANNE'S LACE, by JESSIE JANE HUSSEY CASKEY First Line: So beautiful the bloom this crowding weed Last Line: Of human could create in all the land. Subject(s): Queen Anne's Lace | |||
So beautiful the bloom this crowding weed Is now bestowing down the countryside: Of lacy loveliness, well named indeed, Befitting royal usage, for with pride Can one adorn attire or living place, And greater beauty add so with the charm Of Mother Nature's weaving: Queen Anne's Lace! Everyone has this craftwork -- If on the farm Of humble peasant, or the vast estate Of titled lord, it's there to be admired In all its beauty, blowing early, late. No fairer bloom by heart could be desired. Such lace as woven in this bloom, no hand Of human could create in all the land. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...TO ANOTHER POET by ELLA STRATTON COLBO DREARY SONG by MARGARET SACKVILLE FOR NEW YEAR'S DAY 1703 by NAHUM TATE WILD by KATHRYN STRIPLING BYER QUEEN ANNE'S LACE by MARY LESLIE NEWTON QUEEN ANNE'S LACE by SUSAN PETERSON QUEEN ANNE'S LACE by ROBERT SCHAEFFER PHILLIPS QUEEN-ANNE'S-LACE by WILLIAM CARLOS WILLIAMS THE TRAIL OF NO RETURN by JESSIE JANE HUSSEY CASKEY TO THE LAND OF SLEEP by JESSIE JANE HUSSEY CASKEY |
