THE TRAIL OF NO RETURN, by

Along the trail my way I wend, --
The Trail Of No Return, --
That nearing is my journey's end,
'Tis mine to now discern.
I leave, for aye, your stress and strife,
Oh world, to me unkind,
And long to reach the higher life,
Beloved there to find.

Mistakes I've made, committed sin,
The years of living here;
But pray forgiveness I'm to win,
The faith, mine, naught to fear;
Encouraged, so, the trail I tread, --
The Trail Of No Return, --
That leads on to the heights overhead,
Away, from world sojourn.
