My heart beats faster When I see rain All in a spatter On the windowpane. I eagerly look forward To chill damp nights When we walk onward 'Neath fog-dimmed lights. Your mist-damp face Relaxed and calm Retards my pace And I seek your palm. Somehow heavenly peace Descends with rain Sweetened thoughts release The overburdened brain.
