STONES by MABEL MUNNS CHARLES

First Line: STONES THERE BE IN FENCES AND IN THE TALL GRAY TOWERS
Last Line: A LONELY HEART!
Subject(s): STONES; GRANITE; ROCKS;

Stones there be in fences and in the tall gray towers,
Friendly stones in garden walks between the rows of flowers,
Stones in the country byway and in the city street,
Doorway stones smoothed through the years by countless restless feet.
But oh the stones with names upon -- set quietly apart!
These are the stones that crush upon
A lonely heart!
